Rental FAQs

Will adding EV infrastructure increase occupancy rates or tenant satisfaction?

With the growing popularity of electric vehicles, on-site EV charging is becoming a non-negotiable amenity for many tenants. That includes higher-income demographics where EV ownership makes up a greater percentage of drivers.

Can charging stations be monetized?

Yes. We have two options for chargers: shared or designated. Shared chargers might be used by residents or guests while designated chargers go in parking spots allocated to specific units. You have the flexibility to determine the payment structure, as well as any potential profit margins depending on the charger designation.

Are there local or federal incentives available?

Yes, and our team can help you determine your eligibility and help with the application process to maximize your chances of success.

How easy is it to expand charging capacity as EV adoption increases?

Whether you are retrofitting or installing chargers in a new build, our team can help you design a system that allows you to scale up as demand for EV charging increases, all without overtaxing your electrical infrastructure.

What legal or regulatory requirements apply to EV chargers in rental buildings?

Many municipalities are introducing rules that would require new purpose-built rentals to allocate a certain number of spots as “EV-ready”. That may not necessarily mean they need to have a charger installed, but in most cases, it does mean that you must have the option to install EV charging if requested by a tenant. There are no regulations that pertain to existing multi-unit residential buildings.
